There is a fire alarm found in every apartment. Tenants are responsible for buying batteries to the alarms.  If for some reason the fire alarm is not working when you move in to the apartment, contact the maintenance men of the JYY-Services Ltd.

In the single room apartment houses ABCDE there are electric fire detectors in the apartments and hallways, directly connected to fire brigade. Do not open the detector and clean it only by vacuuming gently from the surface.

An essential part of the fire safety is that THE HALLWAYS ARE KEPT CLEAR. In practice this means that no furniture, bicycles or trash can be stored in the hallways.

The fire doors of hallways and stairways must be kept closed, because in the possible case of fire they effectively slow down the fire. If you see any open doors in the halls or stairways, you can close them yourself.

Familiarize yourself with the exit routes of your building and read the safety plan!
