Living in a place like the Student village requires common rules and a good dose of tolerance for your neighbors. All Student village residents are obliged to follow the Public Order Act and no resident should ever needlessly disturb others or make their living less enjoyable.

The official Student village quiet time is between 23-7 hours and should be carefully observed. Remember that as a tenant you are responsible for making sure your guests follow the common rules and regulations both inside your apartment as well as in the common areas.

In case you feel that a neighbor repeatedly causes disturbances, try to talk to them about the situation. Maybe they simply did not realize they were disturbing you.

In extreme cases where the disturbance is very serious or acute, please contact the police to quickly cool down the situation. It is one of the main responsibilities of the public authorities to ensure public order. You have every right to ask the police for help. The general emergency number is 112.

You can also call the 24 hour maintenance service number (014 607 500) and the person on duty will see if it is necessary to come over and talk to the disturbing neighbor(s). On weekends, security guards are also patrolling in the Student village.

You can file in a free-form complaint on a repeated disturbance at the Accommodation office. Make sure to mention the room number as well as carefully describe the disturbance in question (what happened, time, possible repetitions, was the police involved etc.). Please note that you cannot file an anonymous complaint - you must always provide your own contact details but these will stay within the Accommodation office. Each complaint and case is reviewed separately and the landlord will take necessary actions in accordance with the laws and regulations on leasing. Also the person(s) who caused the disturbance have the right to make a statement in their defence to make sure the viewpoints of both parties are taken into account. Anonymous complaints are not processed.
